The Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury, here dressed with quilts for the 2026 fair. The farmers market sets up on its grounds, and the winter market has met inside.

The island's farmers markets, checked October 2026: the West Tisbury Farmers Market at the Agricultural Hall (Saturdays to October 31, 9 AM to noon), the Harvest Festival on October 24, the indoor winter market, Edgartown's summer Tuesday market, and the farm stands that stay open all year.

Martha’s Vineyard has one farmers market that most islanders mean when they say “the market”: the West Tisbury Farmers Market, held at the Agricultural Hall since 1974. In summer Edgartown adds a Tuesday market, the Ag Hall moves indoors for a few winter markets, and between markets the island’s farm stands keep selling, several of them all year. Here are the days, hours and practical details, checked against the markets’ own pages on October 18, 2026.

FARM STANDS Open between markets

Morning Glory, Beetlebung, North Tabor and Mermaid Farm sell all year; our farm stand guide has every one.

West Tisbury Farmers Market

The market sets up on the grounds of the Agricultural Hall at 35 Panhandle Road, from 9 AM to noon, rain or shine. In 2026 the Saturday market runs from June 6 to October 31, and the Wednesday market ran from June 10 to August 26, so there are two Saturdays left this year: October 24 and October 31. Parking on site and entry are free.

The 2025 vendor list has about 40 names, from island farms like Morning Glory, Beetlebung, North Tabor and Whippoorwill to Island Bee Co., Cottage City Oysters, the Martha’s Vineyard Seafood Collaborative, Pie Chicks, Khen’s Little Kitchen, Enchanted Chocolates and Island Alpaca. The 2026 list isn’t posted, so treat those as a guide to the mix rather than a promise.

A few house rules from the market: no dogs, and no smoking or vaping. SNAP/EBT is accepted, and the Agricultural Society lists the market as taking HIP as well. During Agricultural Fair week in August the market moves to the Grange Hall in West Tisbury center for a few days, because the fair takes over the grounds.

The Harvest Festival, October 24

The Agricultural Society’s sixth Harvest Festival is on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Ag Hall: free, no registration, with pumpkin carving, contests and live music from Blues Switch and the Flying Elbows. The farmers market runs from 9 to noon that morning, so one trip covers both.

The winter market

After October the market comes indoors for a handful of winter Saturdays at the Agricultural Hall. The 2026 dates haven’t been announced yet. Last year’s gives an idea: in 2025 it met on Saturdays in late November and on December 6 and 20, from 10 AM to 1 PM, with about a dozen vendors, among them North Tabor, The Garden Farm, Pie Chicks, Enchanted Chocolates and Island Alpaca. The Agricultural Society posts the dates on its events page.

Edgartown Village Market

On summer Tuesdays the Vineyard Preservation Trust and the Edgartown Board of Trade run a farmers and makers market on the lower field behind the Dr. Daniel Fisher House at 99 Main Street, from 10 AM to 2 PM. In 2026 it ran from June 16 to September 1. It leans toward makers and prepared food, with some produce from The Garden Farm. The 2027 dates aren’t out yet.

The Agricultural Society’s directory lists no other farmers market in 2026, so in Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven and up-island the farm stands are the way to buy straight from a farm.

Farm stands between markets

Several farms sell from their own stands, and some never close. Hours below are the ones the farms post now; they change with the seasons and around holidays.

  • Morning Glory Farm, Edgartown (120 Meshacket Road): a year-round farm store with produce, meat, eggs, flowers, a scratch bakery and a salad bar, open daily. It takes SNAP and HIP.
  • Beetlebung Farm, Chilmark (410 Middle Road): Wednesday to Sunday, 8 AM to 5:30 PM, with a self-serve Farm Shack on Tuesdays. Open all year, with bread milled and baked on the farm.
  • North Tabor Farm, Chilmark: a self-serve stand open daily from dawn to dusk; you ring yourself up on the iPad, even with cash.
  • Mermaid Farm, Chilmark (9 Middle Road): self-serve all year, with milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, meat and vegetables.
  • Native Earth Teaching Farm, Chilmark (94 North Road): Sundays 1 to 4 PM in the off-season, weather permitting, or by appointment.

Slip Away Farm’s stand on Chappaquiddick is closed for the season (it opens June to September), and the Grey Barn in Chilmark closed to the public in 2025. For every stand, with photos, see our farms and farm stands guide.

What’s in season

Morning Glory Farm publishes a harvest calendar for its own fields, which is a fair guide to what shows up at the stands and the market: asparagus from early May to mid-June, strawberries from about June 10 into early July, sweet corn from mid or late July to mid-October, field tomatoes from early August into October, peaches from mid-August to late September, beach plums from late August to late October, turnips from October to December and kale from June right through to April.

Getting there

The Agricultural Hall is on Panhandle Road in West Tisbury, with free parking on site. By bus, the nearest stop with regular service is at the Polly Hill Arboretum, a short walk away. Payment varies by vendor and by stand, and some stands are cash, check or Venmo only, so it helps to carry a little cash.

How we checked this

Market days, hours and rules come from the West Tisbury Farmers Market’s own site and the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society’s directory and events pages; the winter market history from the Vineyard Gazette; the Edgartown market from the Agricultural Society and the Gazette; farm stand hours from each farm’s own site and the Agricultural Society; the harvest calendar from Morning Glory Farm; the bus stop from the VTA’s published stop data. Checked October 18, 2026. Dates and hours change, so a quick look at the market or farm’s page before a special trip is a good idea.
