Every photograph on this site was taken on the island by the people who write it. That is the whole editorial position, and the reason the guides say what they say.

Plate 01

MV Vacation is a small independent site about Martha’s Vineyard. Whether this is your first trip or your fortieth, we try to give you accurate, current information about the island, the kind you would get from someone who actually spends time here.

We want planning a trip to be easier. That means guides that stay up to date, practical detail rather than atmosphere, and honest local insight. The site is written for visitors first, though plenty of residents read it too.

How we work

Know Before You Go

Our editorial position

ON THE GROUND

Guides are checked here, not compiled from other websites. When something closes or changes name, we change the page.

OUR OWN PICTURES

Every photograph is ours, taken on the island during filming and field research. Nothing is stock.

WHAT WE CANNOT PROMISE

We research the latest and verify what we can, but the island changes without notice and outside our control. Where a detail matters (a ferry time, a permit rule, a closing date), we tell you to confirm it, and where.

FREE TO READ

The guides and the PDF library cost nothing and need no signup.

CORRECTIONS

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. A real person reads the replies.

Work with us

The people who know Martha’s Vineyard best are the ones who live and work here, so we like working with them. We are open to partnerships with local businesses, creators, artists and organisations. For collaborations, business enquiries or simply to say hello, write to [email protected].

Affiliate disclosure

MV Vacation takes part in affiliate programmes with GetYourGuide, Booking.com and other travel partners. Some links here are affiliate links: if you click one and book, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend or what we say about it.
