Price the trip before the island does
Eight choices, one honest number. Every rate below is a real 2026 figure: ferry tariffs from the operators, room bands from live listings, menus from island restaurants.
Where these numbers come from
Ferry fares come straight from the Steamship Authority, Hy-Line, Island Queen and Seastreak 2026 tariffs, round trip. Steamship car rates move by season and day of week; the figure here is a standard vehicle under 17 feet.
Room bands reflect live 2026 listings across island hotels, inns and rentals. Off-season is October through May, shoulder is June and September, peak is July and August. Outliers exist on both ends.
Meals are built from current island menus: groceries assume Cronig's or Stop and Shop with some prepared food; sit-down assumes a casual lunch and a real dinner; fine dining assumes two full restaurant meals with drinks.
Getting around: the VTA bus is free and reaches all six towns. Bike, moped and car figures are daily island rental rates. Mainland parking applies only when you sail with the Steamship and leave a second car in Falmouth.
Estimates, not quotes: availability, timing and appetite all move the number. For peak season, book the bed three to six months out.
