Ferries
Fall timetable: four Steamship round trips a day still land in Oak Bluffs and the rest go to Vineyard Haven. The Island Queen and Seastreak run to October 12. The weekend car premium is gone: a standard car is a flat $127 each way. More.
The bus
Every VTA route is fare-free through June 30, 2027. Route 1 between Edgartown and Vineyard Haven runs every half hour; up-island routes are thinner outside summer. More.
Beaches
No lifeguards after Labor Day; swim where the water is calm. From September 16 every beach, including Lambert's Cove and Lucy Vincent, is open to everyone. Dogs are back on most sand. More.
The Derby
The Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby is on: free weigh-ins at the end of Dock Street in Edgartown, 8 to 10 in the morning and 7 to 9 at night, every day. More.

The West Tisbury Farmers Market runs Saturday morning, 9 to noon, at the Agricultural Hall grounds on Panhandle Road. More.
