Martha's Vineyard Jaws Tour: Walk the Real Amity Island with a Local Guide
Take a guided Jaws tour of Martha's Vineyard with local guide Mike Currid. Walk the real Amity Island in Edgartown and book the "Amity" Walking Tour.

A sunset walk through Vineyard Haven, Martha's Vineyard. Golden light transforms the harbor, shops, and historic streets of this bustling port town.
Take a walk around Vineyard Haven on Martha’s Vineyard while experiencing the sunset. Because it is a bustling community town, there are parts of Vineyard Haven that you will see are part of “everyday life” from the local post offices and grocery stores, to the eclectic second hand stores that are sprinkled in between. What makes Vineyard Haven the town it is, is the diversity not only in offerings for the travelers, but the diversity within the business community. Support Brazilian-owned, Black-owned, and female-owned businesses in the same five steps around town, and you’ll realize why so many people call Vineyard Haven home.
Location: Vineyard Haven MV Sunset Walk Martha's Vineyard , Massachusetts, USA
Vineyard Haven faces west across Vineyard Sound, which makes it one of the best towns on the island for sunset watching. The harbor acts as a natural amphitheater, with the sun dropping behind the Elizabeth Islands on the horizon.
Owen Park Beach is the top spot — a small beach with a public dock that juts into the harbor, giving you an unobstructed western view. Arrive 30 minutes before sunset to claim a spot on the dock. In summer, sunset falls between 8:00 and 8:30 PM; in winter, it's as early as 4:15 PM.
This sunset walk takes you through the everyday side of Vineyard Haven — past the post office, Cronig's Market (the island's go-to grocery store), and the secondhand shops that locals love. As the golden light hits the harbor, even the most ordinary streets look cinematic. The walk loops back through Main Street, where some restaurants offer outdoor seating with water views — an ideal way to end the evening.
